Genetics and dietary habits aside, the most important aspect of loosing weight is the chance to feel better and even live longer.  Being mindful of nutrition and exercise is still the most useful advice out there.  Investigate your local whole foods market if you still need ideas.

I choose the words "weigh enough" rather than "weight problem" because I am more clear than ever that it is never about weight.

 

It's about self love, self esteem, healing and belonging.

Nancy's Note: It never fails to amaze me that people for whom nothing else is working will not consider this very logical dietary scheme based on the fact that we human beings have evolved in ways that are no mystery.

 

This is the theory in short (and I quote from page xvii of D'Adamo's book):

  • your blood type -- O, A, B or AB -- is a powerful genetic fingerprint that identifies you as surely as your DNA
  • your blood type is a more reliable measure of your identify than race, culture or geography. It is a genetic blueprint for who you are, a guide to how you can live most healthfully
  • the key to the significance of blood type can be found in the story of human evolution:
    • Type 0 is the oldest, the Hunter;
    • Type A, the original Vegetarian, evolved with agrarian society;
    • Type B the Nomad, emerged as humans migrated north into colder, harsher territories;
    • and Type AB, the Enigma, is a thoroughly modern adaptation, the result of the intermingling of disparate groups
  • when you use the individualized characteristics of your blood type as a guidepost for eating and living, you will be healthier, you will naturally reach your ideal weight and you will slow the process of aging

There are some very skeptical people who have tried this sytem as a last resort with astonishing results.
